I have cut my hours at work so that I have Friday's off. My goal with that is to teach myself how to make videos and start teaching on-line classes ( can you say... it's about time? ) ..... so sign up ABOVE where it says online classes - don't forget to leave me an email address. Because my goal is January to start a lettering class to end all lettering classes. But for now... i'm gonna keep practicing on you all with these freebie ones. So let me know what I can improve on or what you like...
So today was my first attempt. My video is now up on my You Tube channel - HERE! Yes, it's true... i have a you tube channel. You should subscribe. It's LINDSAY OSTROM.... not the Lindsay Ostrom that is the food blogger called "A pinch of yum" - although she is younger and cuter than me. Just type in LINDSAY OSTROM in the search box, or click HERE! This sweet little pumpkin is the project that I taught..... Pretty Little Doodled Pumpkins. I showed how to draw this little pumpkin from start to finish.... however it was too wet to do the colored pencil detail so, in the video... I said I would post it here.
So, how i finished this piece was by adding the scribbled detail in colored pencil and then put the piece together. I sewed the water color pumpkin card onto some black and white polka dot fabric and then sewed that piece onto a deckled edge piece of grey handmade paper. I added in some fluffy bits and pieces of lace, burlap, tulle and some fabric strips. Last was the hanger. I love to buy those fun wire hangers at the craft store. I keep all sizes in my craft room so that I can easliy add an art piece to them. I punched holes in the handmade paper and tied the piece to the hanger with torn strips of fabric. I hope you guys try this on your own. Please email me a pic if you do and you love it! I would love to see what you do....
Stay tuned for my next video. Not sure what I will do yet.... but it will be simple and sweet and in touch with the season. Happy Fall!!!
Did i mention my You Tube channel.... if not, it's -
click on my name and it will take you right there....
Final product is beautiful. You can always use a heat gun on your videos if you need to speed up the drying time, I love how you took time to make the step outs to show how to draw the pumpkin and leaves. Very detailed and very good.
ReplyDeleteThanks lindsey, loved the video, looking forward to January for lettering.
ReplyDeleteI missed you last Friday when I had shopping to do at Benny's...however Congratulations on being "One Step Closer". Love your videos of the pumpkin and sunflower. It has given me a lot more confidence to scribble and not be so precise and exacting all the time. You are the Best Miss Creator of Cuteness!!!
