There are many days that we need to put our Big Girl panties on and get over it... this day was not one of those. I made this piece for a friend in my UGRA ( under ground rail artists) yahoo group. We had a luncheon today at Sharen's in San Jose. I felt like i was in the super bowl of creativity. It was sharing, friendship, admiration and inspiration. Fabulous. I am lucky to be a part of such a talented and warm bunch of ladies! So.... here's a little bit about some of our Super day.... unfortunately my photos uploaded from the end of the day to the beginning. So, a backwards look at the day!
A kid in a candy store... that's how I felt. At MaiDo, a Japanese paper store in Campbell. I spent a fortune on pens and useless little pads of paper, colored tape and stickers. Could life be any better? Oh yes, because after this we went to Daiso, the Japanese DOLLAR Store... ahhhh!
This is a page out of Janet's digital album. She makes mini works of art on the computer and i almost left with this one... i loved it so much!
Carmen and Sharen are taking a watercolor journalling class and this is from Carmen's sketch book... umm umm good!
Karen shared her Zentangles which have now moved into an 8x8 format ready for framing. We want her to have a show in a gallery.....
This was Paula's completed mini book inspired by Ali Edwards who said to take a picture every day in your everyday life and make a journal of it.... Paula chose December. Wow... what a life!
Beth made a fabric covered journal from an online class by MaryAnn Moss (www.dispatchfromla.blogspot.com) and it has inspired me to make one similar, but different. It was beautiful in person...and soft and cuddly!
The Ladies.... from top left - Paula, Gail, Valerie, Judith, Loretta, Karen and Janet. Bottom left... me, Sharen, Carmen, Chris, Bonnie, Beth. An amazing group.
Chris' ATC's for our friend swap... yes, she really did stitch each one. Amazing.... love them. Can't wait to get mine.
This is how we started our morning at Blooms coffee shop in Rosville. A work of heart............
