And, there will be a prize! Yippie Skippie... we haven't had a prize all summer! SO.... get ready. For the next 7 days... I will be posting little teazers just to get you excited! So here goes. Your first clue.....

The day in Tahoe...

We went to Tahoe yesterday with our French Family. Spent the day at Sand Harbor in the beautiful Sierra sunshine. While i was there ... i drew and painted a watercolor for the family to take home to Aix de Proviance. I can't wait to go and visit them someday and draw in the South of France. It's been a great summer.
Here is Carleen's grandson Aiden on his 4th birthday at the pool in San Diego. She said that he has taken flat fanny with him everywhere this summer. I think she looks marvelous.

a few personal notes...

It has been a wild week and i am pooped! So, i thought since i am wired and cannot sleep, that i would share.
Here's my baby... ready for her first day of school on Wednesday as a Junior. How is that possible? Wow... my 2 year resignation plan is really in full swing now. I have two years to go until we will have no kids in the house. Then we can buy our moterhome and tour the country... like lucy and rickey and the long trailer....
anywho.... back to reality... really, i have two years to go.
So, in the mean time... did i tell you i started a new blog? Yep... it's a work blog... my agent told me to start one!
check it out at .... scribblesbylinzi.blogspot.com
AND.................
I have been drawing like a mad women for my new agent and the kids craft kits that she is working on. Here are a couple of my favorite new drawings.... the one above is fishy fish
and.............
this guy is called Will Robinson. I have been up for three nights drawing my fingers to the bone. And loving every minute of it! So... products coming soon to a craft store near you... that's all i can say for the moment. But I will keep you posted. Have a great evening!!!

Well ladies... we are in the last few days of summer... and flat fanny is going out with a splash. Let's keep those cards and letters coming for the next week or so and then onto a new challenge. For now... here are some of flat fanny's last adventures of the summer!

Joy and flat fanny made a splash on the last days of summer by heading out to sunsplash for a little water play!
Joy and her kids also took her to get some ice cream... yummy!
Joy and her daughter Grace took Flat Fanny shopping for a back pack for back to school... i like the polka dot one!
Shelly and her Flat Fanny are getting ready to start a new job at a brand new school... looks like a nice one!
Here, Flat Fanny is hanging out with some of the broken down boxes after Shelly set up her new classroom at her new school

Cory played dress up with her Flat Fanny and turned her into a guardian angel for the summer. Looks like she is happy hanging out in the garden.

if you have anymore Flat Fanny pictures ... send them before the summer is over. Flat Fanny will go into hybernation for the winter and we will start a new challenge.

the sketchbook project...idea

My mom e-mailed me and said that she misses my daily blog entries... so, sorry for those of you that don't miss them. But my mom comes first. So the next entry is dedicated to you mom. Hope you enjoy.
I haven't felt very creative lately. So instead... we sought out creativity at the Sacramento Flea Market this weekend. Here are a few of the finds that i left behind.
---------------------------------------------------------
Below... antique plainers. This guys had a whole table of these hand plainers. They were so pretty.
ahhh... what would the day be without a stuffed deer head in a bucket? Not a very fun day, that's for sure!
This gal had a whole tub of baby blocks. They looked so cool, i had to snap a pic. That looks like a project waiting to happen
Kurtis went with us and he just got home from Thailand. He saw these ultra cool clown shoes. He really wanted them.... but we left them there for the next clown in waiting.
I am looking for a chandiler for my garden. This is a nice one.
A mixmaster... hey mom, isn't this just like the mixmaster you had? They were asking ALOT of money for it It was beautiful and clean.
and who dosen't love plastic letters like they use on the marquee signs?
and pennants... big, big , BIG!
I LOVE this piece. A gal
I love this piece below. A gal buys lots of old typeface... and then takes it and uses it to make word art with it. It's all really beautiful.

Below... are shoe horns, i think. My grandpa was a shoemaker so i always love things that were used by shoemakers.

I am looking for a bit of meaning right now in my life, i guess. and this next idea below... is just what i need to kickstart my creativity.
take a look at this site. my friend judith showed this to me and now i am going to be a part of this cool idea. For $25 you get a sketchbook sent to you, you fill it up however you want with whatever you want and return it to them. They call it a concert tour but for sketchbooks. Once they get the books back, they get barcoded and become part of the brooklyn art library as well as going out on tour all across the country. Such a cool idea. I hope you will all give it a try!
--------------------------------------------------
and now....
for something completely different,
FLAT FANNY!!!
I think that Flat Fanny has gone completely off the map! Where in the world is Flat Fanny? There hasn't been a siting for quite some time now. And... we need to see where in the world she has been....
so......... we need to take some flat fanny pics and send them for me. Thanks for palying... i heard from a few of you that flat fanny has some amazing adventures still coming up!
and
i guess we need a letter writing chalange.... so, you want to write and don't know what to write about... the theme for today is ...What did i do on my summer vacation... so let's get those cards and letters coming!

blue ribbon bloggers

Karen and I went to the Nevada County Fair tonight. It was so much fun. We went on a date so that we could eat and look at all the exhibits. Our little fair is just that... a great little small town fair where the animals and exhibits come first and the food comes a close second... cinnamon rolls, corn dogs and funnel cakes are just a few of the great items to taste!
I could not enter anything into the fair because I live in Placer County... but i did get to enter vicariously through the inspired works of my friends and creative Sierra ATC club members. So, i am delighted to take you on a virtual tour of my friends great works of art.....
Judith won third place for her fabulous altered album cover with a mixed media feel to it. Love this
Judith also entered one of her fabulous appliqued jackets... this one with a Laurel Birch flair and lots of great fish charms.
Ok, onto the exhibits. Here is Paula with her SECOND PLACE winning scrapbook page.
And here is KAREN.... beaming with pride and showing us her SECOND PLACE winning zentangled wine bottle. She won this award under Novice Drawing.... so so proud of her!
Here is the winebottle close up with the ribbon!!!
And just a bit closer... so great Karen, good job!
I loved the ribbon and the little wine charm.
The theme for the fair was "Rooted in Tree-dition"... and this ATC card was perfectly done by Paula and depicted the theme beautifully. However.... NO ATC card even placed a frist, second or third place ribbon. They just don't get it yet.... we have to educate them in the art of the Artist Trading Card... next year our little group will take the show.
These cards above are from Gail P... she won the FIRST PLACE ribbon for a series of cards... all really great!
A fabulous Karen S ATC card entwined in netting and glitter...
Above is a Karen S ATC card that i loved... but the photo didn't turn out too good, it had a paint brush attached to the side with paint dried on it and then a painting next to it. Beautiful....
Above is one of my favorite's of Karen S's ATC's that she collage paper on and made a great outer envelope to put it in.
These (above) are Karen S's trio of ATC cards that she entered. I always love her work.
Here is a close up of Paula's embroidered PEACE ATC card... love the message and the colors.
Karen B. won SECOND PLACE for her great stamped snowmen card.... super duper cute!
Above are Paula's cute ATC's that she made especially for the fair... the top one was my favorite. It went with the theme "Rooted in Tree-dition"
Gail P. won FIRST PLACE for her series of cards... i think... i love them all, not sure which one was the winner here. They are all winners to me!
Karen B won second place for her cute card with a rubber stamped frog.
Above... Joy's ATC's collage entry... i love all the different ATC's in the cute tray!
Above is Paula's SECOND PLACE winning scrapbook page of her daughter Emily's trip to Vietnam
This page ( above) is Karen B's FIRST PLACE winning scrapbook page of her cute granddaughter's Mia and Lilu.
This page is Karen B's FIRST PLACE scrapbook page... nice job Karen. Love your cute little granddaughter.

above... Joy's bag made from Capri Sun bags... so so cute!

GOOD JOB all of the Sierra ATC girls! Congratulations to all of you... you are all winners in my eyes. So proud!!!

see you all at the fair......
