I know that with the letter writing challenge, we are suppose to be having Christmas in July. But in June, for me... it's been Halloween. All i have been doing is going to work and rushing home to sit myself in front of paper, pens and paint. I have been commissioned by a company to design art for scrapbook papers, stickers, journaling cards and stamps for Halloween. This cute girl is Which witch. I have been drawing until about 3am every night!!! Then to the real job and home again to draw some more. It has been really fun. And... my Christmas in July will start July 5th. All my Halloween art needs to be done by then and I will begin drawing Christmas designs. Those need to be done by July 15th.... so, it will be Christmas in July for letter writing and for drawing! I am trying to get this art into a fabric company to have fabric made... keep your fingers crossed!!! Just thought i would share a bit of the life of the starving artist!

TrAiLeRs and BaRnS.........
..... boy did i really mess up this post... I meant to say " I gave my notice at work; my TWO YEAR NOTICE!!! It was a joke. I was joking around at work and told them all i was quitting when my daughter graduated from high school in two years. Hahaha... very funny. Sorry about that. I guess i need a proofreader. Rest assured, i am not leaving my job... not now, and alas... probably not in two years either..... read on!
I think i am having a mid-life crisis. I gave my notice at work and all i want to do is travel around the globe, live with my parents ( all the young kids are doing it ) and then travel, work for 6 months, come home and get a little job for 6 months and then travel again. Sell everything you own and have NO responsibilities.... i think it might be simpler to have a mid-life crisis affair or something.
That being said... I have two other issues. Trailers and barns. I want them both. A little hard to sell everything and travel when you want to live in a refurbished barn and have a cool trailer like this parked in front of my barn.
This SCREAMS summer to me... and i have to have one! So be on the lookout for a cute little trailer to park in my yard!!!
so.... live the rest of my life as a slave to the man... work to just fix things when they get broken, pay the mortgage and go day to day OR.... sell everything and travel.... OR.... look for a cute little trailer to call my own and a barn to fix up in and have as an office... hard choices. For now, just keep dreaming via the internet. Thank you bill gates and steve jobs... i love you guys!

our next letter writing challenge
wild and relaxing week....
Well, summer is in full swing and if you follow fannys adventures.... she is taking every advantage of the summer days. We will have a new letter writing challenge this weekend... so keep checking your e-mails! Thanks to all who sent postcards. I have heard from many who have gotten some great cards.
Fanny started her week with a tailgate party. She went camping with Riley and her dad and cousin...and her dad thought it would be funny to show fanny tailgating!!!
And after a long day, she is ready for bed in her little tent with Riley! Happy Camping fanny!!!
This might just be my favorite photo of fanny so far. Gail and Chris and their flat fannys went to the spa. Both Gail and fanny got facials and if you can see there... fanny even got a towel and a head wrap there. Lucky girls!
At the end of their spa day... the girls went and had a girls night poker night! Can you see fanny's visor there?
Fanny is still at the spa here in the meditation area. I think the visor from poker night is still on and maybe that's the money she is meditating on winning??? Not sure but cute.
They started the day off with coffee at starbucks with Judith and her flat fanny... they all look well caffinated!
This is Chris' fanny at the spa in her robe..... she had not idea what a relaxing day she was in for yet! Thanks for sharing Chris and Gail!!!

Hi there ladies..... be on the lookout for your next challenge by the begining of next week. It should be a fun one... but until then, keep those postcards coming. I have gotten some great ones... if you have too and want to share them - take a picture and e-mail them to me.... scribbles1@earthlink.net.
In the mean time... take a look at what Fanny has been up to!
Farmer Fanny visited some chickens in Washingotn.... Karen went to visit her daughter Kerri and she had to work to get her breakfast. She should have brought her coveralls!!!
Well, Fanny has taken a turn for the dark side. Karen S. sent me this card of Fanny gone Goth! I love it. She said it's a progressive card... so, who wants it next? Leave a comment if you'd like to play in a progressive Oh My Goth.... Fanny!
This is a Fanny siteing from Judith. She and Fanny took a trip to the post office to mail some letters to her blog pals in the summer letter writing challenge.
After the post office, Judith and her friends Lynn and Marty took Fanny out for a little margarita run! Looks like Fanny knows how to celebrate in style!
Cory left Grass Valley for the big city.... San Francisco! Looks like they are taking a tour of the city and looking for all the great tourist spots!

We started our weekend at Pilot's Peak Winery with a bit of fabulous wine, nice company, great music ( by Alyssa Cox ) and a beautiful evening! Fanny has her wine in her hand!
ARRGGHHHH!!! Ahoy there matey... Fanny went with my family to the Pirate's Festival in Vallejo. She was pretty sad that I forgot her wench's costume.. and mine too!
Here she is trying to stowaway on a ship leaving for the Jamacian islands... silly girl!
Fanny tried to leave us for the Pirate's life... but she is going camping tomorrow so I convinced her into sticking it out with our family a little longer... she has such wanderlust!
Joni and the other Ostrom family ( we are both Ostroms, but not related...), had a nice Father's Day brunch and Fanny got to come with her. She said the weather was perfect for a family get together!
Joy and Grace and some of Grace's friends took Fanny(and Grace's Flat Kat... i think that's her name) and went to the opening of Toy Story 3. She loved it and gave it a 10!!!
"I'm going to Disneyland!!!"
Flat Fanny, her friend Riley and her cousins.... Jacob and Brent went to Disneyland for the day... she loved Space Mountain the best!
Blog pal, Crescent participated in a Relay for Life event in Nevada City to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. She was a team leader and Fanny went with her to a Bingo party and played bingo for pennies. I am sure she was a hit... "B-4" she had to go home - get it... B -4 , Bingo... ok, nevermind my humor!

flat fannys pedi's and vacations
Wow.... Fanny has sure had alot of wild adventures this week....so here is a little peek into where she has been and what she has been up to!
She spent the whole day with Debbie and her girlfriends and beleive it or not... it started out at the dentist. I had to ask if Debbie's dentist is a dinasour dentist... creepy. But hey, Fanny had no cavities!
This is probably my favorite Flat Fanny pose... Janet is on vacation... where, i am not sure. You guess from all the other pics. But she did say that this is their solar oven and that Fanny is a great cook! I love that oven. And how about Fanny's traveling play clothes... love the saltwater sandels.
Shelly and cute little Fanny and her flip flops went to Williams, CA to taste some olives. Boy do those look great and i love your dress...
Flat Fanny and her friend Debbie took the whole day and went to the mall with their friends.... Here she tried on some fabulous sneakers. I really want these!
Nex Fanny and Debbie went to the sporting goods store and picked out a bike. I have heard that Fanny actually needs a motercycle because Debbie's friend is taking her riding in the desert... so no pink girlie bikes today, Fanny!
Oops... these shots got a bit out of order.... Here is Janet's vacationing Flat Fanny. She has her play clothes on, which i love... and I love that she brought her camera to get the best shots.
Janet has to tell me where she went on a vacation... because there are pic's of cactus and tomatoes and castles... wow... what place is this.
Oh, here we are back with debbie.... she just had a pedi with the girls. I'm not sure if you can see it here... but look in some of the other shots with debbie.... she has polish on her toes.
Here is Debbie and Fanny in the chair and there are the toenails here... see them? She chose tropical pink for her color, good choice. Debbie... can i go with you girls next time?
And here is Joy's friend Fanny... for those who have been paying close attention.. i think she has many outfits to show. She and Joy went to the mailboxes to check for Summer Letter Writing postcards in the mailbox.
And here is Fanny with Joy's daughter, Graces Friend... Kat. Silly sisters... what are they doing in that PO box???
until next time.... these are the adventures of Flat Fanny's summer vacation and escapades.

watercolor memories....
BREAKING NEWS... this just in!
Flat Fanny was spotted in Thailand! Really, she left her mark in the sand on Rat Hat Island in Ray Lai Bay. She was pretty busy swimming with jellyfish, drinking a bucket and searching for underwater buddah's... but believe me when i tell you... she was there! It's beautiful there, right?
And this little guy is a musang... it's name is, whatelse?Fanny!!!! Kurtis and his friends said they just hang out around the hostel they were staying at in Rat Hat island. He loved then and i thought i would share... Fanny the Musang, in Thailand. Next stop for the traveling trio and Fanny... Cambodia, Laos and then back to Thailand... i guess.
Flat Fanny Folded Fabric... say that 10 times fast!!! Hey Flat Fanny Folds Fabric Flat Folds... so there.
Today i sent out a few postcards. Fanny helped, but she didn't make the photo shoot - I made her clean the brushes. I am addicted to watercolors and watercolor paper right now. Although tonight, we will be sewing on paper.... loving this summer!!!
Audrey is a teacher and she just finished the year!!! Yeah... school's out for summer. She and Fanny have been writing report cards, packing up her classroom, and getting ready for a family reunion in Oceanside. The family is gonna love Fanny... even though she isn't suited for heavy lifting!

Ok letter writing ladies.... I am starting a progressive letter for this summer's challenge. It will include the list of everyone's name and address . I am hoping that each of you will write a little something about yourself or your summer and mail it on to the next person on the list. If you need extra paper... add some. When the last person writes on it... send it back to me and I will post it on the blog. Sound like fun? I hope so, it does to me. Check your mailboxes!!!

Flat Fanny is hanging out in Georgia... she has a southern name... sylvia slim.. and yes she is. Her friend Tanya, thought that it would be fun to show us how they shop in the south...at the Piggly Wiggly. Hey... i've been to a Piggly Wiggly!
This is Sylvia's cousin... Flat Fanny and she belongs to Tanya's daughter, Illoria. All four girls went to the Piggly Wiggly for a coke and peanuts.... that was right before they went to the Waffle House... my favorite breakfast spot!
Joy and Fanny hung out for the day by the lake...Fanny kept her long dress on, she didn't want to get a sunburn.
Tamara was out picking lettuce from the garden and Flat Fanny decided to have a little party and said... "Lettuce invite some friends"... so she invited Flat Frida (Callo) and then that's Marie Antoinette with her. She was a gift from a SwapBot pal of Tamaras.
Cory went to her mailbox ( and what a cute mailbox that is...) and found two postcards from blog buddies Chris and Gail. I love that Gail has a little mini Flat Fanny in the lower right corner... cute idea little miss Gail!
